1.Survey Data Analysis concepts, methodology and practise: monotone system approach (22.11 kell 10.00 IT-140)
We will consider a principle of data cleaning, e.g. to address an algorithm to perform an analysis on survey data tables with some unreliable entries. The proposed technique is based on a monotonic property. We will look at implementation procedure of the principle, which contains a recommendation that might be well suited for clarifying and illustrating the results of survey data analysis. Problem is, that surveys, studies, statistics, opinions measurements, research results, etc. are served to us on a daily basis, in an infinite stream and are used both by enterprises, media-experts, universities and other organizations to tell us something about reality – how things works. Reality is complex and consists of numerous choices, possibilities, behavioural patterns, preferences, etc. A regular survey cannot cover all relevant data appertaining to any given subject and can more often than not lead to completely nonsensical conclusions. What we address should be seen as an instrument, which has to be used correctly by the analyst to tune into the clearest reality.
2. Monotoonsete süsteemide rakendamisest tulumaksustamisel (22.11 kell 14.00 IT-140) “Käesolev loengus pöördume, nähtavasti, kriitilisele küsimusele seotud ühiskonna heaolu ringvoolu suunamisega. Kolme isiku mängu näol paigutatakse heaolu materialiseerimise kulud maksumaksjatele. Nii, kaupleja No.1 tegutseb kodanike seaduslikke ja moraalsete õiguste nimel sotsiaaltoetuste tagamisel. Kaupleja No.2 tegutseb avaliku hüve vajadusest. Vastupidi, mängija, edaspidi nimetatud No.3, eelkõige eelistab materiaalse omakasu võrreldes sotsiaaltoetustega või avaliku hüvega, s.t. et kodanikud-maksumaksjad üritavad kokkuhoida laekuvaid tulumakse kauplejate No.1 ja No.2 üldarvele. Tegelikult toetades ähvardusele ära keelama kauplejate kokkuleppet katsub mängija No.3 poliitilise manevreerimisega anda lootust valijatel-kodanikel maksude alandamise suunas, s.t. et heaolukomission peaks läbiviima ettepaneku kõrgete maksude vastu üksmeelse hääletamisega. Valitsus reguleriib ja määrab kindlaks laekuvate tulumaksude ümberjaotamist vaesuse piiri kaudu. Me ennetame et vaesuse piir võrdne 50%-di ulatuses mediaan töötasule on parim valik kehtiva konstruktsiooni tegevuspiirkonnas ja tingimustes.” Lahendus leitakse määrava jada ehitamise abil tingimusel et kodanike tulude statistika (distribution) antud. 3. Bargaining game on Boolean tables: monotone systems perspective view (23.11 kell 12.00 auditoorium V-103 .
In this lecture we will look not only at a theoretical solution of bargaining problem as used by game theoreticians but also an adequate calculus. By adequate calculus we understand an algorithm that can lead us to the result within reasonable timetable using either the computing power of nowadays computers or widely accepted classical Hamiltonian method of function maximization with constraints. Our motive is quite difficult to meet but we hope to move in this direction in order to close the gap at least for one nontrivial situation on Boolean Tables. Therefore, we arrange a two-person’s cooperative game to be performed between the moderator and the coalition. We will present a heuristic interpretation of the algorithm in lines of Rapoport at Shapley value and follow the apparatus of monotonic systems.
